Due to us all living at the same address, granted I'm in the annexe not the main house. Does this not counter act the tenants part as they would technically just be living with me.
If that's not the case what would happen if we were to swap and I lived in the main house. Would the mortgage company still see it in the same light?0 -
It would be up to the mortgage company's interpretation of the situation. They may be classed as non-owning adult occupiers. In this case they would have to sign a declaration stating that they have no rights over the land that would supersede those of the mortgage company.0

W4terfall you started this thread by saying that you built a house on your parents land when in fact you built an annex. When people picked up on this you accused them of calling you a liar and got defensive.
Why on earth did you not state the truth from the beginning thus saving people coming up with the wrong answers to fit what you want the outcome to be

Council tax yes, address no.
Where we are situated backs on to a council owned park. Planning was given for the building to be built as an annexe not as an independant address. Hence we have to wait until the 5 year mark to re apply. At that time if they grant that it can exist as an independant property we can split the two on the deeds.
While it's an annexe you could benefit from a council tax discount.
