Replacing ceiling light

Hello,
We had our house rewired in June and have just finished the full redecoration of one of our rooms. As part of this, we had the ceiling replastered and now wish to replace the existing light fitting with a new chrome one that sits flush to the ceiling.
I'm comfortable with the wiring, but wanted to check; It's possible I could remove the existing light cable and cap and fit the new light with the existing ceiling rose in place - wiring the Switched Live and Neutral into the terminals on the rose the existing light cable is wired into. Is this acceptable?
The new light casing is rather spacious and the screws to secure look wide enough to clear the ceiling rose.
The alternative, I remove the ceiling rose and use connector blocks to join the T&E to the light wiring - using the rose seems a lot more straight forward though.
Thanks in advance.

If you can comfortably fit the new light over the existing ceiling rose I can't see any reason not to do this.
You might find however that the new light has its lamp pre-wired into terminal blocks and is expecting a cable to the other side of them in which case you could use a piece of flex to join the fixture to the rose.0 -
Thanks for the quick response.
Below is a photo of the light - my intention is to connect the blue and brown wires where the current "dangling" cable is connected to on the rose and the earth to the earth. I'll confirm for sure that the screw holes clear the rose but from an initial look I think they will.
