Hello, you mention you may not need a TV license. Is there a reason for this? Either you need one or you don't I would imagine. If you don't have to pay for one then obviously ditch it.

Just buy a Freesat box and satellite dish and do away with Netflix.

Hi, The two points above I noticed. I'm not about to suggest you get rid of your breakdown insuranceOurs came up for renewal last November, they quoted about £100. I rang our motor insurance who added it for the year up to next September for £60. Might be worth a try.
The house insurance seems high, may I ask do you shop around at each renewal?0 -
If you only watch netflix then you dont need the TV license. We use amazon video that comes with prime and have had netflix before and dont have one. You can still watch the on demand streaming things online like 4OD but not BBC Iplayer. There is a thread about it somewhere on here if you search.0

Hi yes we do shop around, I think my husband did green flag and we got cashback - we couldnt last year do a pay it in advance but this year we will which should make it cheaper.
The house is building and contents and is actually the cheapest we have found it in years, it seems to get more and more expensive every year - though we havent ever claimed.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

Car 1 road tax - £17.93 pm - paying monthly adds to cost - if you can save up you may save a few quid.
Car 2 road tax - £11.37 pm
House Insurance - £15.23 pm
Water £16 pm impressive - wish mine was this low!
Green Flag £10.44 pm
Netflix £7.49 (we have no tv aerial so can't watch normal terrestrial tv channels)
Mortgage £879.38 (recently reduced by remortgage fixed deal 2 years)
Dog insurance £17.23 for 2
Gas & Electricity £48 impressive as well - must be quite frugal
Vodafone £102  (this is ridiculously high, we 4 contracts, I have reduced them to as low as I can and will cancel all as and when they come up for end of contract - stupidity moment don't beat yourself up. When finished - I'm with Tesco mobile £7.70pm contract - never use all data and tests.
Car 1 insurance £44.18 paying monthly often adds to costs, deffo shop around each year - I save loads doing this
Car 2 insurance £16.93
Council tax £110
TV License £12.12 (im not convinced we need a tv license but scared of getting into trouble!) I'd check BBC website - I think you may need a licence now for BBC catch up, but not sure
Phone & Broadband £28.99
Food: £250pm (for 2 adults, 1 child & 2 dogs, 1 child has SN incl food allergies and issues and 1 adult with allergies. This includes all household cleaning products and toiletries).

If it ate as much as these dogs, it would have to pay its way. Chimneys still need sweeping, after all.
£8 per month to feed 2 dogs really isn't as extortionate as many people spend on their pets.
They are both loved and part of the family - no more pets is the rule in our house but the ones we have we wouldn't get rid of.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
I sympathise on the dog front, I only have one but his coat is the type that it needs groomed regularly or he gets matted which is uncomfortable and actually pretty neglectful as an owner to not deal with it. He just won't sit for me to do it though even though I bought clippers but it's part and parcel of having a dog.
The mobile's are high but as you say there isn't much you can do on that front till the contracts are up but always worth having a look and see what deals are there so you know straight away what you can move to and the savings you will be able to make.
Well done on completing the IVA.0
