domain name problem

I own two domain names (both .com) which i bought through a company called studentwebhosting.co.uk.
One day a third party wrote to studentwebhosting claiming he owned the domain names and was taking me to court over ownership of both the names.
studentwebhosting immediately informed me that i was not allowed to administer either of the names anymore and i am now unable to use them at all.
This third party has NOT started any legal proceedings against me and has not started any disputes with icann.
I have explained this to studentwebhosting a thousand times but they say that they will not let me use the names until they receive a court judgement or a decision from icann!!
As there will never be a court judgement as no case or dispute has been filed I just don't know what to do anymore!
I have owned these names since 2004 and have recently paid for these names for the next two years. This third party made their ridiculous claim about 6 months ago and i have been unable to do anything since then.
Please help me - how can i regain control of the names? studentwebhosting are acting as if they are the law on the internet, when they have no right to do this at all. I have searched the icann site and can't fin any info there either!!
PLEASE HELP!!!

Who sold you the names? It is them who should be sorting this out & it is them you could claim from. If the domain name was bought properly then a 3rd party could only offer to buy from you unless your names are very similar to a well known companyNudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

Have you approached ICANN yet?
If not, then that's the first thing you need to do. Get confirmation of onwnership from them, then go back to your host.
Get them at https://www.icann.org. Lots of reading on there, so be prepared.0 -
Nominet will pull a domain from under a registrar and transfer it to a new one (i.e. change the IDS tag) for an 11 quid fee if you can prove that you are the domain holder, if you do a whois on the addresses is it your name on them? Did you get a letter from Nominet when you registored the addresses, should have a code on so you can create an account with them.0

I know what I would do.
I would write to them at state that I am the owner of the domain name studentwebhosting.co.uk and I am taking this to court over ownership.
Would love to see them stop themselfs from using their own name.
Maybe a few more here should all do it.
As in; by contacting http://www.fasthosts.co.uk and disputing their very own domain name. Except that for the sake of £40 through a small claims court you will have the ball rolling at least. Either way, you'll become a royal pain in the !!!!.
Sorry never seen that, that is even better, write to fasthosts.0 -
Nothing to do with Nominet, they only deal with .uk domains.Nominet will pull a domain from under a registrar and transfer it to a new one (i.e. change the IDS tag) for an 11 quid fee if you can prove that you are the domain holder, if you do a whois on the addresses is it your name on them? .com domains are controlled by registrars accredited by internic.
Find out from your domain registration documents or whois who your domains are registered with and get them to transfer your domains away from studentwebhostingThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
