fortunately bike tyres seem to be manufactured better than they were 40 yrs ago , some bikes even use tubeless tyres now - I have been told!
It's probably safe to say this now, as I doubt if I will be buying another motorcycle in the future, but my puncture record over 45 years and probably 200k miles, tubed and tubeless, slicks and knobblies, winter and summer, was ...

    Precisely zero.

I had a few that needed topping up more quickly than I would have liked (and therefore had the chance to repair/replace at my own convenience), but nothing to strand me by the roadside or, worse, a blowout. Bike tyres are pretty good stuff these days, tubeless especially.

the mini compressor I referred to in my post above was this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultimate-Speed-Mini-Compressor-UMK/dp/B00JQ9P6GE

I removed the cigar type plug , fitted croc clips , I can confirm in use TODAY (not tested in the last 40 yrs) that the unit takes substantially less currant than posters are suggesting , if you were to have any concerns , then simply leaving your bike running would alleviate them .

Wouldnt know i dont have a bike apparently..

You have had a speed devil mini compressor for 40 years? are you sure?

Not done 200k on 2 wheels but i have had one puncture at home, dropped it off the stand one morning to goto work and !!!!!!.
Went in the car and took the wheel off that night and dropped it off the next morning.
Although my works carpark was often littered with broken pallets.

My scooter does not have a 12v socket (maybe my new one will when I replace it). I have one tyre with a right angled valve. The bicycle track pump is both schrader and presta. I.e a single head that can be used with either type of valve. I shall look at buying another right angled adaptor for the wheel that requires one. I could do with a pump/compressor anyway that is multipurpose for use with the car/scooter and childrens inflatables.

    Many thanks for the suggestions.

    Much appreciated.
