Fridge on Carpet - protection

in In my home (includes DIY) MoneySaving
We have bought a large fridge/freezer to put in a spare room but the room is carpeted.

Has anybody got any recommendations please for what we could put on the floor to protect the carpet?

The footprint of the fridge is 70 x 63.5 (cm).

    Thank you molerat. Yes, it may come to that, but I was hoping for something looking a bit smarter and that would be easy to wipe down.

    Initially I was thinking of one of those perspex mats you put under office chairs, but apparently they are prone to cracking so probably wouldn't take the weight.

    What do you mean 'smarter' & 'easily wipe down ???
    Its going to be under the appliance so you will not see it !!

    Sorry, I was envisaging that this would stick out out bit in front of the fridge in case there are any spills when we open the door.

    Buy an inexpensive door mat and place that in front of the fridge to catch any spills. Clean it if and when necessary.

    Buy the closest colour match to your carpet or get one that is a pleasing contrast.

    Or use an old towel if you are not bothered by the appearance.
