Does your company reward Loyalty?

Now a days being loyal to the same insurance / energy provider etc does not pay....

Does your company reward loyalty ?
Eg Do you get a reward / extra holidays etc after 20, 30 years service ?

Just curious as I feel the times that people spent most of their working life for one employer are disappearing.

  • We get a "service day" for 5 years, climbing up to 5 days for 20 years I think.

As well as being the best paid in the sector (according to the figures they give when pay negotiations start ;))
  • I work for a learning skills and training provider attached to a City Council. Because of this we get an extra days holiday after every two years up to a maximum of 5 extra days, so 10 years in total to achieve this. Apart from that no in terms of wages/bonuses/loyalty payments etc

We get an extra day of annual leave for the first 5 years of employment. It's capped at 31 days and we get bank holidays in addition. Compared to most places I've worked that's pretty generous.

I spoke to four (out of 19) drivers to chivvy them to take their holidays before they run out in March - not sure extra holidays would be appreciated! One of them had had one day off since April and since he got paid a day in lieu for a bank holiday, he's still got his max allowance.

We don't have anything in place as such for staying, but we look after them and they stay for years and years so therefore they are happy.
  • My daughter is in care work in a retirement village. Her pay is quite decent for the job, and team leaders are on good money (some care companies only pay team leaders around 50p an hour more than the care workers, and they are on less money than my daughter is as a care worker). For those with no absences between two pre-determined dates (six month period), there is a gift of £50 Love to Shop vouchers. So if an employee is not off sick for a full year, they receive 2x£50 vouchers.

My ex used to work for Securicor (parcel delivery). After five years, he was given a new tie. It was the same after ten years. I think the twenty year award was a new tie and one extra day a year holiday, but he didn't reach that milestone. He'd moved on by then.

22 days annual leave from start, 25 after first year then 30 days after 10 years. Plus bank holidays.

Think you get a letter of something if you work there for 25 years or something.

They give out simply thanks vouchers for various things (normally £20). Plus there are yearly bonuses but only an extra couple of hundred pounds.
  • We get sick pay after 12 months service. That's it really.

We do have a high staff turnover, not as my employer are bad but it's a competitive industry with a shortage of staff with the right skills about so staff are frequently poached. They'd do well to offer service length incentives!

Extra days holiday after five years, ten years. Discounted mortgages @ .1% above base. Any training course outside of work paid for, one day off a year to volunteer plus a days holiday for doing so. free shares, half price shares, probably loads more I've forgotten plus free tea and coffee.
