Computer keeps crashing, graphics card?

Hi,
Not sure if anyone can help. But our desktop crashes every time a 'game' is launched. It runs for a bit then the screen goes black and the the computer fans go crazy. The only way to reset is to hold the power button in.
It's perfectly fine for general use but no good for any games, even ones with low level graphics requirement like football manager.
Can anyone help? I've removed the graphics card and cleaned it out. There was a lot of dust in there so thought that was the problem, but still have the same problem.

Is the CPU overheating? Are there any newer video drivers available?0

Hi,
I've checked and appears all the drivers are up to date. How do I check if the cpu is overheating? Thanks for your help.0 -
Checking cpu temp... The BIOS may have a CPU temperature listed (F2 or del at startup depending on computer). Or try http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
Again, depends what the motherboard is. A visual inspection won't hurt. Is the CPU fan running? Is the heatsink on the CPU secure?0 -
Ok thanks will have a look when I get back and let you know.0

How old is it? Got a 4 year old PC that did that at work whenever it had a high workload and it was bulging capacitors on the motherboard. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
