Credit card refund if item is reduced

hi

i purchased a settee on my credit card on 26th october 2016, and it has just gone down in the sale by half the amount. i thought i read somewhere that the credit card company or master card will give you some money back if something is reduced, am i right and how do i claim, as i rang my telco club card credit card and the lady said she had never heard of it.

check out nerd wallet website but this seems american from the phone numbers

can anyone help me, if this link is true then i have probably ran out of time unless they exclude bank holiday then i have a couple of days to claim !

Some specific cards used to do this but I don't think any do now.

I'd never heard of it, but it does sound much more like a promotional offer than any legal obligation.

My old Barclaycard used to do this.
I've not seen any uk cards that offer such things any more.
A lot of US cards have much better benefits than ours.

I think it both MasterCard and American Express used to offer such a service but AFAIK this hasn't been the case for a long time.

If you'd have purchased your settee much more recently than October you could've contacted the retailer and seen if they'd refund the sale difference but I think it's highly likely their answer will be "no" I'm afraid!
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

If it goes back up after the sale will you have to be charged more again? Never going to happen I'm afraid.
