And remember debt collectors can't do anything without a court order

And any attempt at a court claim gives you a chance to defend it. No-one is going to try court action here because they would get their backsides kicked if it came to a hearing.

Its just that the lady is 61 yrs old. Living by herself & these people are putting the fear of god into her. Bad enough her ex partner has stolen her identity. Her nerves & confidence are shot.

Try and explain that these people have no power whatsoever, she should tell them to leave or she will call the police.

Filming them can be beneficial, they don't like that.

Seriously these people are not worth getting upset about, they are like toothless tigers, but try to imply they have more authority than they actually do.

It's not that common to get visits from debt collectors as it's not very profitable for them. Which DCA is sending them?

As for the letters, just get her to hand them to you

Difficult advice to accept but she must remember that she owes nothing, she is the victim of fraud, and the debt collectors can do nothing apart from irritate her (which might be considered as harrasment). She should wait it out until she gets a result from the FOS complaint and in the meantime refuse to discuss it further with anyone chasing the debt (unless and until someone is daft enough to try to get a CCJ against her in which case she has an excellent defence).
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Its just them turning up which scares her. As you can imagine her ex partner has knocked all the life outta her. The police aren't interested.

Its just waiting for the reply from the ombudsman I think. Fingers crossed they sort them out & fine them.

She knows this. But when your confidence has been ripped from you. Its hard. All advice has been passed on. Just waiting for FOS now.
