Amazon Delivery not received

Ordered something from Amazon (one of their merchants) late December 2016. Item was never received - Merchant sent me a "delivery slip" by Yodel claiming item was delivered and showing that someone had put a squiggle (a rectangle!) where my signature was supposed to go. I wasn't at home and can prove I was at work on that date and time. Amazon wont touch this as they say the item has been delivered. The merchant is saying the same thing (and Amazon have sided with them). I have also contacted Yodel but heard nothing. Its not a large amount of money but surely there must be some sort of rules around who signs for your parcel. Its not my signature (its not any signature as far as I am concerned). Not sure if I have any recourse but would put me off using Amazon again.

When did you order ?
How much was it ?
How did you pay ?
I take it you have asked your neighbours ?
So was the slip posted as you werent in ?0 -
Thanks it was only £11.00, ordered in mid December. I paid through my registered debit card with Amazon.
I have asked my neighbours nothing has appeared.
Nothing has come through my door, when I queried everything I got an email proof of delivery from Yodel0 -
Is this not the first time you have had this problem?
I ask this because Amazon usually side with the customer in cases like yours, unless you are repeatedly complaining of lost parcels.
Just for information, being able to prove you were personally at work on the day of delivery does not mean there was no one else at your home to receive the parcel.0
