IPhone 4- Unable to switch on Bluetooth connection.

My old IPhone 4 is unable to switch on the Bluetooth connection. It appears on screen as on but does not work. Can I remedy this as I wish to use an activity tracker on Bluetooth . this was given to me as a present. Any help will be appreciated.

I recall several years ago I had an iPhone 4 which would not connect to a Bluetooth device because the device needed low power Bluetooth which the iPhone 4 didn't have. And though the device manufacturer said that iPhone 4 was supported they really meant iPhone 4s and they did at least give a refund. (That's a quick summary of something that took me about a week to work out was the issue :D )

I would guess that is your issue also given the respective ages of the two things, if so the iPhone is never going to work with any new devices like this so you could be looking at getting a newer phone.

I use my old iPhone 5s as a wifi radio alarm clock, perhaps consider repurposing yours :D

P.s. This xmas present could turn out to be more expensive for you than the present giver

    iPhone 4 supports Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

Which Activity Tracker are you trying to use out of interest OP?
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
