Audi q2 , Extra Bits

HI there,
I recently did a test drive for an Audi Q2.
Looking to get it but never bought a new car so need some advice.
Dealer is offerring extra things like Gap Insurance, Paint Protection, Tyre Protection for £1750.
I understand Gap Insurance but is it worth paying Audi for the Paint and Tyre Insurance?
Any comments would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
Regards,
Yazmin

It's the right one word too, those insurance policies are there for one reason only, to boost the garages profits.

If you really need gap insurance I suggest that you really need to consider if your

    No, no,no.

Do consider the wheel/tyre insurance, or buying from another insurer, if the car has over sized wheels and crazy priced replacement tyre prices.

It COULD be an investment, rather than an expense, if you are on badly maintained roads.

Gap, can also be sourced in other places.

Paint and interior protection, applied properly is worthwhile. But this would be best applied by a detaling specialist, rather than dealer. Alternativly you can buy products which will allow you to cherish and keep the appearence of the vehicle. Although Audi approved applications do offer substantial warranty against damage to paint, which can't be rectified without a repaint. Think nasty bird poo, in coastal areas, which will eat through surface lacquers, resulting in repainting. But like all insurance, there will be some get out clauses.

So each has a benefit, but possibly not by purchasing from dealer.

1,Gap insurance or return to invoice google this as it will be miles cheaper.

2,Paint protection it is worth while however do not let your dealer go anywhere near to doing that as they use there own people that wash the forecourt cars get a professional to do it or do it yourself as the kits cost a third of what the dealer will charge.

3,Tyre/alloy wheel insurance again search Google.

    Hope that helps.:)

    Can't agree with you here.

My other half bought GAP insurance (replace car with like for like policy) for her BMW. She paid cash from her savings and got a 30% discount as it was pre-registered.

But, I will agree it can bought much cheaper than a dealer offers.
