Account switch then reopen switched account?

I've got a Santandar 123 account, which (long term) I'd like to keep for the benefits. However, I can get paid a bribe to switch this to another bank :) Anyone know if I could switch the account and then open a 123 account with Sandandar again shortly after? Or would they be likely to refuse this?

Why not just open an additional account with Santander and switch that?
  • Thanks. I already do have several current accounts - but the others have regular saving accounts attached (so there would be a cost in moving them).

Will Santandar let me open more than one current account, then, and only switch one? I hadn't thought of that - would be a neat solution!

Any restriction on number of accounts will be detailed in the account T&Cs...for example, Nationwide limit you to 4. Is there anything in the Santander T&Cs (not the 123 T&Cs, but the general T&Cs)?
    and only switch one?
The current account switching service (CASS) switches just one current account - the one you tell them to switch - not total banking relationships.
