Consumer Rights and Amazon

Your SAD FART is a brilliant piece of advice, especially don't let the retailer fob you off with 'go to the manufacturer' - the retailer has a legal duty, which your article so succinctly points out.
But what about Amazon? Being based outside of the UK, does their "Safe Buying Rules - returning goods" override UK law or is it just an excuse to point you towards the supplier/manufacturer?

Amazon are user friendly. Do you have a specific issue or is this a random first post? Will you post again, ever?0

What a warm and friendly reply to my first thread - and a Happy Christmas to you too!
Of course I have a specific issue - that's why I posted the blasted thing.
Of course, it's not a random first thread.
Of course, I will "post again - ever".
If you can't be sensible, don't reply.0 -
What is the issue, have you tried to resolve with Amazon and have they tried to palm you off to the manufacturer?0

As a first post it's a pretty random thing to ask, and in fact it's pretty easy for you to find the answer in another current thread on this board.
As you do have a specific issue you'll get better responses if you tell us about it.0 -
And did you buy directly from Amazon or a Marketplace seller?
When was the purchase? Did it develop a fault or was it delivered damaged? If it developed a fault how long was it after the purchase?
If you don't state exactly what the issue is then no-one can give an accurate response.0 -

If you have a specific issue, you didn't cover it in your posts
It was also pretty random to be fair.
The reply was pretty sensible.
Enlighten us about your Amazon troubles and we shall try and help0 -

I will try again then. I'm glad you found my reply both warm and welcome.
What is the question? You say it's specific, perhaps you could specify it here.
I can be both sensible (and not) and I will reply if I want to.0 -
UK (or rather English, if you are in England) law applies to the purchase and you can sue Amazon at your local county court.0
