Default Anyone helped with Parking Eye Macclesfield Hospital ?
Hi guys, don't really want to get into a debate about the quality of our great British Press-(my feeling is, "The Division of the Powers" is what makes our country great, no matter what you think of each one individually!).
A Journalist at the The Daily Mail is interested in the relationship between trusted public servants, charity commissioners etc etc and Private Parking Companies.
He is currently interested in how Parking Eye are treating users of Macclesfield Hospital, East Cheshire. If you've helped somebody with a parking charge at Macc, could you please ask the AP if they wish to speak to them.
He can be contacted at {Text removed by Forum Team}Illegitimi non carborundum:)0 -
Hospitals using the approved method of barrier controlled pay on exit schemes already have the "elaborate monitoring system" in place. The system just needs a small tweak to provide free exit to legitimate users by means of a token or similar. Alternatively have the parking charges for say up to 4 hours a token amount & over that penal to deter commuters with provision for legitimate users to stay longer without payment. There are two sides to the parking charges at hospitals. Yes I agree it sounds outrageous to charge patients or their vistors to attend hospital, a place where no one wants to be.
However when the two main hospatals in Leicester were charge free it was impossible for patients to park after about eight thirty in the morning because the place was full of workers in local businesses taking advantage of free parking. Since charging began it is now fairly easy to park.
Some fairly elaborate monitoring system would have to be installed if the car parks suddenly became free again.0 -

Get used to it, what's left of the NHS as originally envisaged won't survive the summer madness.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -

And in case we've forgotten, this just shows what an awful company C(r)aptia is that knowingly buys a company that operates like this, and allows it to continue, or even get worse under its ownership. Mind you, not surprising, given how Crapita are well knowing for fleecing the public purse for decades with their poor value for money services.0
