Is it possible to set the input for "Handbrake" to stream video ?
I have checked the help files and it mentions Streaming as an output - but not input.......
I don't see any way of changing the settings.

Handbrake input is video, either a file such as mkv, ts, vob etc.
If you want to input a dvd as the input stream then you have to stick the dvd on your hard drive using something such as DVD Decrypter then point Handbrake to the folder whre the decrypted dvd has been stored.
This also applies to blurays too.
That's the only way I can think of to get Handbrake to accept streams for input.0 -

Thanks - so no online streaming input then ?0 -
I use Handbrake to convert and (for laptops) VLC to play the resultant MP4 file.0

Online streaming input - you usually point Handbrake to the file or folder which you want to convert, for example input folder C:\videos or C:\videos\myfilm.mkv
Note though that anything streamed online is likely to have copy protection which may prevent it being copied.
Try replacing the input destination with your online url
for example replace C:\videos\myfile.mkv with the URL of what online file you are streaming - it MIGHT do the job.
If that does not work then you need a screen capture program which captures your screen and outputs a video file then use the output from that as Handbrake input. If you do this you can also set Handbrake to crop off any resultant bars around the resulting video.
If your intended input is something from youtube then there are several programs available which can download videos from there and which can then be fed into Handbrake.0 -
a screen grab of video devours hard drive capacity exceedingly quickly
sorry cant be of any more help its not my basil forte0
