Cheap evening out......

Options
On Weds evening we decided to take advantage of 'Orange Wednesday' and go to the Cinema 2-4-1.
£5.20 for both of us (BOGOF).

Before this we went to Brewsters for a meal, using a vouchers from my 'Big Fundraiser Book' ((which I got for £10 instead of £15 due to an offer from my employer - these books are great and also help charity when you one!) which gave us '2 main courses for the price of one'....BF feeling extravagant wanted steak so I had Lamb (same price).
£9.99 for both of us.

I decided, for a change, to have some'pick'n'mix' sweeties (don't normally eat sweets, but had a craving!), and went a bit OTT - easy to do on pick'n'mix - cost came to £2.09, but the nice young chappie on till was very cheerful and said - I'll give you that for a quid cash!
£1.00 for both of us, and we didn't eat them all, so some lft for the kids at the weekend!

Bargain nite out, and we really enjoyed it for a change (though the film wasn't brilliant!!!!!).

£1 cash, bet that went in his pocket then!!! Why not just hang about near the sweets and quickly pinch one when no-ones looking!?!?

Sorry - it was Hitchhikers Guide - not expecting too much - was a fan of the books & radio & TV series, but had to go from curiosity......

Well, if you didn't know the story it would probably be OK - actually the first 20 mins or so were OK, but then it seemed to veer off, with only occasional references back to the original story. A few laughs though.

I well understand 'artistic licence', but actually thought it was a bit over the top to use the original title and then produce a film which only vaguely resembled the original story......and didn't even end the same!

B/F was more disappointed than me!

Oh---and the lad did put the £1 into the till (whether he took it out again after we'd left I don't know!!!!!)
