The first thing I would do if I bought a tent would be to put it up in the back garden the very same day.
I certainly wouldn't wait a few days, weeks, months and lug it to a campsite to first erect it.
What if enough parts were missing to make the tent unusable? You would have had to trudge home and spoil your trip.
Have you really just put up the tent within the last two weeks since the purchase in April? If it was in the summer, why have you waited until now to post about your problems?
Wind-up post if you ask me.0 -
If you have re threaded the pole , how is it partly fixed?
No reason why any of the other poles should break if you have now used them once.
When did you pitch the tent for the first time0 -
For anyone wondering:-Hi, please can you help? I bought a tent from Charlie's Direct online in April this year using my credit card. On the first outing, I went to pitch the tent and the cord in one pole was snapped when I took it out of the bag. As it was late evening when we arrived at the campsite, I managed with the help of a stranger to rethread the cord through the pole so it was usable for our camping holiday.
I contacted the company when we returned and after repeated attempts of contacting them, they finally offered to send through a cord replacement kit as apparently Vango don't cover the tent poles as part of their guarantee.
I now have a tent with a partly fixed pole, and I'm unsure if the other poles will snap on me the next time I use it. I now don't have confidence in the tent as I don't want the same situation the next time I go camping with my young family.
Please can you tell me where I stand with my consumer rights with either a replacement or a refund for the tent?
