Returning Amazon item, postage offered too low

Hi, just wanted to check this with MSE users. I ordered a guitar from Amazon which cost £165. Having received it it's not right for my needs so I'd like to return it, however the only option offered by Amazon is a postage label and £4 towards postage costs. They recommend I choose tracked postage, however the cost of this is £20. Will they refund the extra £16? I can't see why they think £4 would be enough to send a large item back.

Have you asked Amazon on chat?
They are the only ones who could outline your change of mind options.0 -
It's a 'change of mind' return. Count yourself lucky you got four quid.0

Is the guitar faulty or not as described?
If not then I didn't think Amazon offered to pay any of the return costs (except for shoes, clothes and accessories).
If it is faulty or not as described explain to them they need to pay more to cover the postage.0 -

Before they change their mind0 -
Thanks for the replies - looks like I'll have to say goodbye to the £16 as it's a return based on playing the product and realising it's not right for me, not the fact that it's damaged or faulty. Was thinking/hoping distance selling regs allowed you to try an item and return without being out of pocket - thought Amazon offered free Collect plus returns to facilitate this. Will think twice before ordering a large item online again.0

The size of the item is irrelevant. I would have thought for an item like a guitar, you would go to a proper music shop and try it out there, before you purchase.
Even if you had bought blind from a B&M shop, for a change of mind return, they would not compensate you for 'petrol' or 'parking'.0 -
Unfortunately the guitar I ordered isn't available to try anywhere near where I live - a lot of music shops have closed down because of online competition so often the only option is to buy and send back if it isn't right...0

But why should they pay for your mistake? It's already cost them to send it to you.0

Have you tried someone like https://www.parcel2go.com0

Thanks for the tip GTE Boy - bris, not saying they should, just wondering if they would!0
