Artificial slate roof, valley leak,

Wig

I was in my attic today, and was not happy to see water penetration evidence and water droplets coming down the underside of what must be roofing felt (It's white inside the attic, grey on the other (upper) side (like duct tape grey). Some roof timbers under the valley were wet, and a bit of a damp patch near the bottom of the valley on the upper side of the ceiling boards, i.e. where it had dripped off the roof timbers. There is not a lot of wet, looks like I have spotted it before it has caused any damage.

Any ideas how much this will cost to repair, by using the services of a good roofer? The valley is about 6 - 8 feet long from the eaves to the top of the roof line. Access is good.

Is it raining where you are? This could be condensation.

Does the roof have any vents?

I suspect it may just be condensation.

There are no vents as such, but there is a velux window, and looking from inside, I can see on the gable end, daylight from behind the fascia boards so there is obviously a gap i.e. it is not hermetically sealed. :)

It did not rain last night, but did rain lightly a few days ago.
Very heavy rain a few weeks ago, but I was not living in the house then, and the heating was not on.

I guess it could be condensation, I hope it is. I have the heating on for the first time in over a year. still even if its only condensate still a bit concerned. Maybe I will put a towel & tray to try catch the drips.
