Dear Coxy, I can't begin to imagine what sadness you and your family must be going through. Sending hugs and continuing prayers xx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Hello everyone, I am just slobbing today, though have been knitting and will Hoover and do washing.
Like several others, my lurgy keeps reinventing itself.

We have lots of stuff to eat, nobody needs to go shopping, I had toast and marmite earlier, people can help themselves to sandwiches and whatever and OH is cooking later.

With love to Coxy and LaineyT.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • I have just written a long post and the damn internet has swallowed it. I am seriously fed up with our broadband speed....aarrgghhhhhhhhhhhhh
  • Afternoon all,
A gorgeous sunny day here in Essex. No heating on and the patio doors open
Went to friends' yesterday for leftovers - don't remember getting home and woke this morning at 11.00 still fully clothed:o
I've had a good tidy round the house - looking forward to getting the decs down and everything back to normal.
Am at the hospital tomorrow for an Infliximab infusion - it will be lovely to put my feet up and read a book for a couple of hours even though I will have the canula in! The nurses in the ward are a hilarious bunch so looking forward to hearing about their Christmas antics!!
Sorry to hear so many are feeling poorly.
Coxy - my thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time.
Am waiting for DS and his lovely girlfriend to skype me - she booked a surprise mini-break to Utrecht as a Christmas present (DS was born there). Would love to go back some day - it's beautiful city.
Cup of tea, slippers and putting my feet up now.
    Lilli x

    Afternoon everyone

lilibet - it's a lovely day here, clear sky and sun shining but the temperature is not above freezing - part of my back garden still has this morning's frost on it! We're further north than you but certainly not up North!

I've just portioned up the LO turkey meat and bagged it up, also got 2 bags of turkey stock - all now safely in the freezer. At lunchtime we had hot new potatoes, gammon (that was the last of that), turkey, pork pie (menfolk), hard boiled egg, cheese, pickles, pasta salad, I had a small salad with mine and no pork pie, cheese etc. I just feel so stuffed, felt really uncomfortable last night, so made sure I had my porridge and coffee this morning, then salad as above for lunch, feel so much better now, can't wait to get back to "normal" whatever that is! Back to work tomorrow for me and DH, having a think of what we'll be eating tomorrow night - could be fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg. I love turkey but couldn't manage it another night! Or a heavy meal, so need to check through the fridge before a final decision is made! Fridge is looking slightly less full now - but still way too much in there that does need eating up for my liking - I'm thinking I may have a go at making butter as I have a large unopened carton of double cream that I'm not sure I will use up before it goes out of date, I could then freeze the butter and use at a later date.

    Keep safe and well x

Well, I got the bed linen washed and on the line. There was some blowy wind for a while so the sheets are par-dried. I've now got them on the airer upstairs with the dehumidifier going to dry them off.

I've not yet put the flannelette bedding on, perhaps in January the weather will turn colder, until then I'm fine with the cotton.

The garden has had a tidy. There were leaves and bits of branches all over the place after the storms, flowerpots lying on the grass and bits of 'I don't know what' everywhere. I've also cut down some bare stems of plants which have died but not fallen over. So, I've been a bit productive. Off to Glasgow tomorrow for a belated Christmas with my DM who is feeling better now, still got a hanging on cough but certainly no more of her cold.

    Hope everyone is doing well.
  • Had a nice bracing walk along the front at Herne Bay this afternoon and DD is just making a large turkey curry for dinner tonight. I bought some jollop from Holland and Barret for my tickly cough, tastes revolting so hopefully it will work :):):)
