I'm wondering if the automated bots can enter many now on each site

They have changed it so when you have clicked to enter most have another click to confirm entry then instead of going back to the list of prizes page 1 to however many it goes to a "related Prizes" list.

Would auto entries be able to work round that?

Linking direct to each competition is most likely, I doubt the index (old or new style) is used.

(I consider the possibility of automated entries just an additional reason not to do them - it is very difficult to make multiple entry competitions show a good return for the time they take to enter and many of these ones have the potential for 1,000s of entries per e-mail address)
