Help, I have to complete a tax return

I have to complete a tax return for 06/07.
When I did these in the past I used the Which software to calculate the tax liability. That way I did not have to triple check my maths.
I tried to register on the Gov website for access to the online forms, but it hates me.
Does anyone know of a free downloadable program that I can use in the place of Which so i don;t worry that I can't count.
Many thanks

I always use taxcalc.. if you have earned < 20k its free if you have earned over that the personal edition is about £25 which if you earn 20+ is pennies.=======================

Thanks for this (I was interested in the same thing so found this answer) - when I look at taxcalc website there is no reference to it being free if you earn less than 20K which I do - any idea where I find it ?
Thanks a lot

Not sure why or how the gov website hates you but, I do my return online (have done for years) and it works out the tax for me. It will also give me a print out of the calculations so I can double check before pressing the red 'submit to revenue' button. Doing it online also means I don't have to pay the postage to send the form to the tax office.0
