Help and advice in selling accident damaged car on ebay?

I've done a quick search in the forums but not found anything that might help (any links would be most grateful).
Anyway, I have just had a phone call from the Motor Insurers Bureau saying they are writing me a cheque in settlement of my accident (reversed into by a stolen car being chased by a police car back in May this year) and have been told I can now dispose of the car.
What I really need help with is listing it on ebay. I want to be totally honest with the car's condition in the description (as everyone should be) and also show about 3 photos of the damaged front end as well as photos of the whole car. The car is 'fixable' by the right person(Rover 200 's' reg) but I don't know if I should advertise it in the 'car' section or 'spares and repairs'. I have searched in the 'cars' section and have noticed two 'spares or repair' Rover 200's listed, one £500 and one £900!!! I don't think I'd get anything near that for mine even though the pre-accident state of the car was pretty good.
So I guess I need to know what catagory to put it in and should I put a reserve on it? It had 4 new tyres fitted over the last year and also had a new head gasket last year. I need to get as high a price as possible to pay off the credit card that I bought my new car on!
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

cant give lots of info but bear in mind IF you can sell it in parts you pay much lower fee's etc
however i feel ebay would view it as a car sale TBH unless you were actually breaking it.
as fro what its worth, not a lot.
just look how much a road legal s reg rover 200 goes for.
then key in repair costs
also whatas its insurance status?
it must have declared damage so you need to know what catagory its been declared as.
eg cat C write off,cat D etc0 -

I'm not sure about this because I don't have any paperwork back from the motor Insurers Bureau yet. It's not my insurance company dealing with it.
I still have the log book too. I notice some cars sold as accident damaged don't have the log book.
The MIB said they'll send me a copy of the report the independant inspector wrote for them so I'll see what that says.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

the log book is only £19 from DVLA so not a big issue on resellers.
you could sell it with out the cat rating but potential buyers may be wary meaning lower bids0 -
Couple of things I would bear in mind-
It is likely whoever buys the car will want to do it up and sell it on at some point, so if you've got service history etc say so in the advert, it will add quite a bit as most insurance co.s don't supply this to repairers.
Cat D is much more saleable because it means the car has only suffered relatively minor accident damage and tends not to cover structural damage- so it's well worth putting in the advert if it's Cat D. This will also not show up on the log book for future owners, so again, well worth it from a buyer/repairers point of view and they'll pay extra for it (although some dubious repairers will then sell the car on to an unsuspecting buyer without mentioning the accident- but that's a whole other debate...)
Cat C tends to be more seriously damaged and will require a DVLA check. It will also appear on the logbook so reduces the 'repaired' value of the car. If you don't explicity state which cat most people will assume it's cat C and you won't get as much.
If you have the log book you are likely to sell the car for more than if you don't, not only because a new one costs money but also because yours won't yet say if it's a cat c because it's never been sent off.0 -
One of my daughter's friends is possibly going to buy the car off me as a project to 'do up' so I may not need to sell it on ebay now. He knows all about the accident and knows the car is in good condition apart from the damage.
There is maybe another option and that's part exchange at a garage. My daughter is looking to buy a car and we wondered if we'd get more for it that way. Do garages take 'unroadworthy' cars in part exchange?DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024
