Unexpected windfall

Apologies if this has been raised before.

I've just received a letter from Lloyds Bank. I was the administrator for my brother's estate when he died back in 2012. The letter states that there are concerns that poor advice may have been given when he took out a life policy. As a result, all payments are being refunded plus interest.

No request was made to Lloyds to investigate the policy which lapsed in 2010, so I'm assuming they must be checking all policies like this.

    They are required to go back and check cases that meet a criteria.
