Hi there
The following is message i send my CAR INSURANCE.. please read it and you will understand..
"""Hi there
I have contacted coverbox to cancel my insurance from 31St December 2016.. But they said the cancellation fee is 174£ but on the coverbox website it shows 50£ and even when I login to my dashboard and go to terms of business,,, still it says cancellation fee is 50£ and I have checked this many times before and now.. on 19 Monday 12 2016, the female over the phone said to me that it is a mistake so cancellation fee is going to be 174£ and will send a request to IT department to solve the problem... I said to her that its not my fault,, its obviously coverbox mistake of which I have never been aware of... So I will be paying 50£ for cancellation fee instead of 174£.. But she said no this that this that and there was some change of terms and conditions... Etc..
Now my question is its not my fault. I was aware from your website that cancellation fee is 50£ so how can you just say no, its 174£ so I have to pay.. Its just like a shok.. Just imagine if the same thing happens to you would you feel good?? Obviously no...
Then also she said something like they have all the calls recording so if something she can get from there she will..
So please cancel my insurance from 31 12 2016 under the cancellation fee of 50£..
Thank you.. """

I have no idea why they are doing so... they said i bought my insurance before 17 august and on 17 august new terms and conditions were updated.. But the fact is i never new the terms and conditions have changed and even they dint make any changes on their website or to my personal account online...
Please do you have any idea what should i do??? should i pay the cancellation fee 174£ of which i was never aware of, maybe they told me about 174$ when i bought the insurance but cant remember,, or i should go further and argue to pay 50£ cancellation fee??
Thank you.. Between sorry for low quality English...

Check the terms and conditions you got with your policy, that's the ones you would be bound by
  • yes i have checked them.. the girl over the phone said to me "you need to check by login to your account and go to terms of business and you will see there your documents regarding cancellation fee" i old her "yes i have seen it and it says £50 cancellation fee" Then she said "No no actually we should have update the new terms and conditions" and bala bala.........
in short words i have checked my terms and conditions which specifically for me, and according to them i have to £50..

Take screenshots and document everything you can you may need it, I wouldn't be paying more than the £50

Read further - the £50 is just the cancellation charge. You will have other items to pay for when you cancel early!

Separately to their ts & cs read up the insurers ts + cs regarding what happens when you cancel mid term
