Good tyres for car when towing a caravan?

So we now own a Ford Cmax and a caravan and next year plan a long European trip, the car will be well loaded as will the caravan, well within limits of course. The car will soon need rear tyres and I cannot find any recommendations for tyres used for towing so your thoughts and experience welcome.

Just make sure it's got at least the minimum required speed and load ratings (99V etc), and that it's an appropriate pressure for the load. Both should be on a sticker on the door pillar somewhere.

The same tyres you put on when not towing. You know the max axle and noseweight limits don't you? Don't exceed them and the tyres will be fine.

Check tyre pressures at the loaded limits.

You'd do better to ask in the towcar section of caravantalk.

Most cars seem to be fine with any decent tyres, but tyres can make a difference. eg http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/topic/112818-mercedes-e220-saloon-auto-2011/?hl=%2Bmercedes+%2Btowing

Exactly this advice!. Loading the caravan correctly and setting the correct pressures will massively increase the safety no matter what tyres you use.

I had that tyre size on my old car which I towed with and I used Jinyu Tyres which were less than £50 each fitted and I never had any problems no matter the weather.
