Selling a used car

I'm after advice please!!
I have an 03 plate VW Beetle, which isn't in fantastic condition but is running perfectly fine. I've never had any engine problems with it, but it does have some scratches to it, also I think there is an issue with electrics as the central locking doesn't work on the passenger door but will open with the key and the window on the same side can be a bit temperamental.
But generally, the car is a good runner and I'm reluctant to scrap it, however we have a new car which we pick up tomorrow as we need a bigger car.
Am after advice on selling this sort of car, or if it is best to scrap it!?
Thank you

Why not give it to either the fire service for training or like a youth training centre for helping kids understand mechanicsmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Ideally we would like some money for it as we have a new baby on the way in addition to a 3 year old so need to put the money towards the newer car.0

Ebay or autotrader with an honest description - just put the facts and good photos. If its priced well it will sell quickly.0

If you scrap it you'll likely get nothing for it, or have to pay someone to take it away because the price of scrap metal has fallen through the floor.
Recently I was going to scrap an old but running Audi A6, it was going to cost me £50 for someone to take it away.
I would put it on Gumtree or the local facebook group, be truthful and state the faults and you may get a few hundred pounds.0 -
If it has an MoT its worth 500 quid all day long. I used to by cars like this and drove them between mots.0

Insurance transferred to the new car? Dont forget to SORN it and park it off the road and the tax will get refunded.
Which makes it harder tos ell because it shouldnt be on the road and a lot of drivers wont be insured to test drive it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for all your advice, it's very helpful 0

You can sell it with a year's MoT. If you aren't prepared to put a long MoT on it, don't expect much more than scrap value.0
