So do you think I should call them and say I've discovered I've a ccj I am being honest her, I truly didn't know :( I'm sorry if people find this unbelievable but I didn't .

    Thanks for replies

    I would do the following:

Look at their recruitment web page, and see if there are any vacancies that are similar to the job that you have been offered. If so, ring up HR to discuss that vacancy without saying who you are. Ask whether the CCJ would be a barrier to recruiting someone to the vacancy. They may so 'no', in which case you can feel reassured. In any case, that will give you some idea of their policy, and hence how you will play it.

You may well choose to "own up" since the credit check will show them the CCJ and you don't want them to think that you tried to conceal it. Do so in writing: whoever makes any decisions is unlikely to answer the 'phone, and a letter gives you the chance to explain that 1. you did not know about the CCJ at the time you applied for the job and so provided information to them in good faith; 2. you were in the process of paying off the debt at the time the creditor obtained the CCJ and have continued to service it ever since.

Maybe this job isn't for me then.

And I honestly didn't know about the ccj hence me stating about it today and paying for a credit check. Like I stated I've been ill as in depressed and stuff got on top of me and I've not been managing well financially and was just being honest.
Didn't need to be judged for being honest.

I have no respect for your defeatist attitude, if you are willing to give up then you have nothing to lose so call them and tell them what you have discovered before they call you.

Each application is risk assessed on an individual basis - no-one here will be able to give you an absolute answer.

All you can do is fill in the form and wait... be truthful and see what happens.
    :hello:
  • I have got the job !
And I'm by no means a deafelist , I've beat bowel cancer and still manage to smile!
What've you done to make you be able to cast judgement on anyone
  • Congrats! :)
