I gave the wrong postcode – where do I stand

I have ordered from a small online retailer and I noticed a day later that I had added my old postcode, instead of my new one. I contacted the them that afternoon but they didn't get back to me until the following day and by this point my package had already been despatched as of 1pm the previous day.
Where do I stand in terms of a refund or having my order resent to the correct address?

Theyll only give you a refund if you can get the product back to them. They will only reissue the product to new address if they receive the original back.
Im sure a company would (refund/resend) out of some weird customer service values but unfortunately your mistake. The company should not be out of pocket for it.
ETA, ideally they will get a failed delivery and the goods returned to them in which case they will probably be more than happy to send it out again. If someone accepts the delivery, your issue is with them.0 -
Well they've sent it where you asked them to - is this in the same area where you are now? You could always ask the occupants of your old address to forward it on, or if you've just moved did you have mail redirection set up perhaps?0

That's what i was (unfortunately) thinking. Going to drop by my old address and ask them if it's turned up! Thanks.0

Would there be an argument that the billing address was wrong so payment shouldn't have gone through0

Just postcode, the rest of the address and name is correct.0

If it's just the wrong postcode, then it'll either get returned or they'll note that the postcode doesn't match the address, ignore the postcode and deliver to the correct address. They're hardly going to know to deliver it to your old address given that there can be many 10's of addresses assigned to each postcode.
I guess you'll have more luck if it went via Royal Mail or parcel force. I've had post before addressed to <name> <village> and it got to me.0
