Been looking for a credit card with free travel insurance but I haven't been able to find one for over 70s. Anybody know of one, even if theres an annual charge for the card it's likely to be less than an insurance premium!

Can't think of any current credit card deals but some banks have current accounts with travel insurance included for a monthly fee.
Some will insure you to age 80.
Bear in mind if you have current health issues then they need to be declared and you could be forced to pay a premium for the insurance cover.
Sometimes what seems a steep premium for holiday insurance may be the cheapest option.0 -

Thanks, I'll concentrate my search on current accounts.0 -
One of the cheapest is the Nationwide FlexPlus:

This is £120 per year or £170 per year if you are 75 or over but you can offset this a little by earning 3% interest on up to £2500.
It also includes breakdown cover and mobile phone insurance, amongst other benefits.0 -
As others indicated, it can depend on whether you have health issues that have to be declared.
My own experience is that when I enquired about the health cover on a packaged version of my bank account, they wanted an extra £150 to cover me with a few declared health conditions.
When I compared that with buying a decent policy for £85 and then paying just £20 to declare the same health conditions, the total cost was less than just the additional medical premium on the bank's "free" policy.Optimists see a glass half full

Thanks folks, I've managed to find a policy that varies between £120-£170 (depending on excesses etc), with declared medical conditions, but I will consider also the suggested Nationwide a/c as 3% looks good in the current climate!0

If you have declared medical conditions then take a standalone policy.0
