It probably depends on what the comment actually was.0 -
It probably depends on what the comment actually was.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If you worked for me and used the 'C' word to anyone your !!!! would be of fire as it skidded off the premises. It disgusts me, people who say it disgusts me. Only my opinion of course but if I am paying your salary my opinion is the only one that counts....j
Agreed. I absolutely hate that word.0 -
Surely, (unless you do this sort of thing regularly? or when sober?) anyone with half a brain cell can see this is a one off event which was due to alcohol. Yes we should act responsibly with it, but i imagine most people who drink have had one night they are not proud of after too much sauce0

If you choose to make that one off event a work one then you take the consequences.
When will people learn that alcohol and work do not mix?0 -

The sour taste in your mouth is from the tequilas most probably.
And as you like Dr Who let's put it like this - you had a choice to make when you went to the social. You turned left.0 -

I wonder what it was, as long as it wasnt like "Ahh you got big boobs!!", I guess it depends on the workplace.
I've had a colleague ask me to physically check out her new boob job then had another jealous colleague ask me to inspect her naturals as she believed them to be better, hardest part for me was being diplomatic and praising both sets, tbh both were fantastic. I guess my generation are not so trigger happy though.
But yeah I compliment women, i made a thread previously which went south as you would imagine on this forum but w/e.
IMO if you are going to get drunk and make moves and act dumb, leave it for the weekend, not a works event.0 -

Seems the MSE swear detector didn't like your choice of words either!
More seriously though, although I personally agree with you, it would depend to some extent on the culture of the particular workplace. Some would routinely make a barrack room blush and if that was the norm then you wouldn't be on strong ground.0 -
ive had the misfortune of working in a few warehouses when i was younger and having to deal with foul language constantly, it really did my head in but it was just the way those people were and how they spoke to each other.
i dont see what the problem is with the 'C' word, i dont use it but i dont see it as being any worse than any other curse word but whatever, the worst one is usually the one you dont use yourself.0 -

My partner got sacked for gross misconduct (he didn't actually do it but could not provide evidence that he didn't) but anyway job centre said as long as it wasn't gross misconduct for theft they would not sanction him so hopefully yours will be the same.
