Just totted up the spends since the last time I was here. Up to £173.50/£300 with 10 days remaining.
Got a bargain today at Mr T's, hubby works for them and he got given a booklet of vouchers as they'd had a store refit recently and it was a thank you from the manager for their hard work whilst it was going on. They got 3 vouchers for themselves and 3 for family. It meant I could buy £25.61 worth of food and ended up paying £0.95. Got some meat to last a few days, veg and fruit, milk, sugar, mayo and some jack daniels bbq sauce, as well as 4 cheese & onion pasties for 30p and 2 boxes of 30 cocktail sausages for 37p a pack. The pasties will be used for teas for my boys when we're having something they don't like and the sausages for picnics.Grocery Challenge 2024

To make it more frugal, i want to make my own mexican bean soup, so am on the hunt for a recipe. Or i might just make one myself, by looking at the ingredients of the one i usually buy from Morrisons....

am i the only one with no leftovers from crimble????
I say none, I gave most to my sister cos I knew they were going home to an empty fridge/freezer house, but I kept 1 small cheese.
I don't know why I'm struggling recently, I smashed £160pcm no problem, dropped to £150 and never done it. I'm capable of cooking tasty budget meals, I have the stuff... I think its cos ive been so tired recently and (for wont of a better expression) the pain in my neck isn't getting any better.
next month ive decided that ill stop beating me up and return to the higher amount.
only plus side ive not spent anything a few days0 -
Did only a small amount of shopping last week. Not much of the budget is left and we still need a few big things so may have to be resourceful or creative.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Oh my goodness, well I've dropped off the face of the earth!
Spending is ok-ish, should just about make the £500, but looking through everyone else's spends it's clear I could do much better.
Will be back with abundance in February, but until then plugging along with my spreadsheet and trying to meal plan to keep me on track.
Will now go and catch up on the 20+ pages that have appeared since I last posted!!!February Grocery Challenge: £0 / £5000 -

Another £2.17 spent here. have updated sig.0 -
Planning a personal NSD but will have to shop for the night shelter dinner tomorrow at the local church (I am the designated cook for tomorrow night). Writing it up here makes me commit to only buy stuff for that and not diversify into getting stuff for myself. There, I've said it, hold me accountable! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Hi everyone
Small spend yesterday of £5.75. Milk, toilet rolls and coffee that I always buy when on offer, I won't compromise on my coffee and baked beans!!!! But I make sure I only buy when on offer!!!
Weather rubbish here so not going out, I still have plenty of food in so I can still make proper food from the cupboards and freezer but I have no goodies left now.
