email ID

when i send an email (AOL) it states my name and email address.
Is there any way to delete/hide my name from the recipient ?

    I'm not familiar with AOL, but there should be a "sender's name" or "your name" field you can change somewhere in the settings.

    Why? I would be suspicious of any email with no sender details and would delete it.

    You could change the name and return email address to blank spaces or underscores. That would do what you want. Your actual details could still be seen in the full headers though.

    I rarely set up a sender name for my email accounts. I've never had anyone blindly delete an email just because it didn't have a name attached!

    Why would you delete an email with no sender name, but not one with a different return-path to the sender address?
