How long is a piece of string?
Each lender has different criteria, so the credit limit will depend on how yiur circumstances fit them.0 -

MBNA and Virgin tend to be the friendliest.0

I got a £13000+ card from Amex through Sainsbury's, when I closed it and then got a Sainsbury's one they gave me about £3000 or something like that, maybe a bit more but wasn't anything like the Amex limit. Good credit behaviour is more likely to get you a card with a higher limit
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Barclaycard were the most generous with me in the last couple of years and Tesco was the least. BCD limit 4 times that of Tesco. But that is me with my circumstances and history - everyone is treated on their own basis.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I too have found Barclaycard have given me the highest credit limit. Sainsburys was the lowest.0

I've recently got £4k with M&S and £6.4k with Tesco, taking my total available credit to about £22k. I also have a personal loan, car on PCP and 0% Ikea finance on the go. Salary £40k, household income about £60k, so on paper I'm in quite a lot of debt. Credit seems pretty generous at the moment. If you apply to Tesco use quidco for about £30 cashback too.0

Barclaycard were very generous to me when I applied for a 0% balance transfer card. My other 2 cards have £3,000 limits but they gave me £8,300 from the get go. I was actually a bit shocked!0
