    Good for some, but it'll either never really take off, or will take over 10 years to gain any sort of momentum.

    I agree that it is only good form some but think it (Hive and others) have taken off. I take the suggested savings with a pinch of salt (rather like car manufacturers suggested MPGs).
    They suit some lifestyles better than others. All I can say is that, for me, they have made or heating/hot water more controllable and saved a small amount. The next few years will see an increase and other functions added (which has already started)

    I have the Evohome. It is expensive but it will pay for itself in the long run. I would say that the main benefit of this system is the control you have over your heating. If you have a fairly regular routine you can have each room being heated as and when you need them to be.
