If it is I'll definitely go for it! It does seem to be a bit too good to be true though, and you know what they say about that.
Is it open to Open University students? I have the email address.
Thanks,
Clare

Lovely to know someone had posted it on the forums first. Thanks very much to the poster. That's not where our info came from but its always good to know MoneySavers are on the ball. When someones spotted something we normally do include a link - yet we dont always notice.
And as an aside, in future send us a quick PM - its always much easier. To clutter up the thread, doesn't help people save money - which is the core aim of the site.
All the best
Martin

You don't need to be a lemming. University is supposed to teach you to think for yourself.
Have you tried the FREE! offer from IBM at

Or you can use Google documents - this allows collaborative use as you can share documents.
Or download the whole kibosh - Ubuntu Operating system with Open Office.
All cost a lot less than Microsoft and don't tie you in to perpetual updates and the requirements for a computer more powerful than most businesses had 10 years ago.
Another free tip for students and others: Can't find your favourites? - Keep them on Google/IG and they are available from any computer that you use, not just on the browser that you stored them.

I can get most software for a tenner a Disk from Leeds Uni, Shame they dont do Macromedia/Adobe any more.0

I'd leave it until you get to university before buying it. Some universities have site licenses which allow students to install microsoft software on their own machines for "educational use".0

As PMerchant says, why get Microsoft Office anyway - you may think you need it but OpenOffice will almost undoubtedly do you and it's free. See...

OpenOffice isn't just for dweebs and geeks and computer literates. I've been using Word and Excel for over 15 years and since moving to OpenOffice a year ago, I've hardly noticed the difference. You can open and save Word and Excel documents and I don't remember having compatibility problems with these. It also has a drawing, presentation (very similar and compatible with Powerpoint) and a database application. All for free...
C'mon Bill and his buddies have got enough money - why not try OpenOffice before parting with your cash?

(PS: My OH got a licensed copy of MS Office for work and I was reluctant to put it on the computer since I was so used to OpenOffice. I put it on - guess what, it mucked up my Internet Explorer installation and I couldn't sort it even with a re-install. Typical Microsoft. So I now use Mozilla Firefox instead).0
