Install 2m Concrete post to communal bin shed + labour

Options
Hi all,

Currently in a dispute with the freeholder of my block of flats regarding some work they've charged for in the service charge. Can I ask for an opinion on what the expected cost would be to install one 2m concrete fencing post, alongside associated labour charges for the job? This is in Hampshire, and would be including materials.

Thanks guys, was the sort of figure I expected. Not the £300 they've opted to charge!

That depends on how hard the dig and how deep they dig it( many use the rule one third underground so in your case 1 meter) prices quoted above are simply not realistic at all, Most companies would charge half a day at least if not a day to install so for your part of the country 200 -300 incl material is not excessive.

Obviously not what most want too hear but doesn't change the reality of it business are not basing there working model around the £30-50 mark those that do go bust or are cowboys, also is this just a post on its own supporting nothing (above to the side etc) that sounds a little strange,

There would also likely be a charge for arranging the works as this also cost time and monies,

Where leaseholders consulted prior to works and just couldn't be bothered to get quotes or does lease have a clause for works below x to just be done without consultation ?

Lease permits ongoing repairs as part of service charges (former shared ownership property, owned by Housing Association). HA have their own property maintenance team, and don't need to consult unless work will be over £250 per leaseholder, so for our block that's about £3500.
