electricals carried in hand luggage

we are flying from leeds and bradford next week and was wondering if you can take any thing electrical in your hand luggage iwant to take my ghd straighteners and dont want to put them in the case as where going to benidorm and i know many people have had there cases broken in to and things stolen thanks

    Hi jennake, rules state that all electrical items should be in your case. I was in the same situation as you 2 weeks ago, but after being nagged by lbf i put them in case. case went missing at Palma airport but luckily turned up after 2 hours. People were having all sorts of things taken off them that they had in there hand luggage at newcastle Airport, so i really wouldn't trust carrying them in your hand luggage. Safe journey. Starry

    HI Nordictat2, Laptops are allowed on as hand luggage, as are mobiles but they must be switched off. Regards, Starry.

    Does that go for RyanAir too...been some yrs since I took it so i wasn't sure if you have to try to fit it in your hand luggage or what...:cool:

  • i took a portable dvd and camera in my hand luggage to Greece in July. would have had an MP3 player in there too but managed to leve it at home.
  • i had my hairdryer and ghds in my handluggage and it went through ok

    no the rules don't state this ....check your airlines own website for clarification
  • As above phone the airline your travelling with and clarify details.

    I had my PSP and mp3 player on plane when away last week but rules and things change so much all the time.
