Short term sign ups - which companies are best?

Morning all MSE people - bit of a query around utilities....

I'm moving to another city in January for 4/5 x months (Jan to May)and may well have to set up utilities in my name at my new renting house. I'd rather not put my name to any bills as I am not staying long. Are there any companies that accommodate a short term contract for energy, water etc, or do I have to go the full 12 x months?

Most suppliers will allow you to terminate a contract without penalty if you move home; however, you need to read the terms and conditions of your chosen supplier before you sign up.

Don't forget, when you move in you will be on a Deemed Contract with the existing supplier. Your letting agreement will state who is responsible for energy bills.
