7" and 10" tablet wifi

Bit of a strange one to me, I have a 7" Amazon fire tablet that gets either no or poor wifi signal from one spot in my home but my 10" Lenovo Tab2 A10-30 connects with full signal from the same spot.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I have tried it during the day and night but I still get the same problem:(

    Hi

It may be a frequency / channel issue.

2.4GHz (best for wireless compatibility & range)
    5GHz (best for wireless performance)

Moving closer to the router, moving/changing the Wi-Fi channel or moving/changing the Frequency, typically choose between 2.4 Ghz or 5.0 Ghz, using inSSIDer to find the clearest channel.

In that the lower frequency may pass thru walls etc better, and your 2 devices could be on different frequencies.

Or just a poor tablet as mentioned above, lower power or faulty.

As per post #4 ... is one connecting to a 2.4GHz network and the other to a 5GHz network?

    As post 4 .
I have the same situation and needed to experiment and even turn down the routers WiFi settings .
  • Can you install 'Wi-Fi Analyze' on the fire tablet? I think it's on the amazon app store.

Put that on both of them and compare how the wifi chips are doing in relation to your network.

WiFi Analyzer (yes, American spelling) is the one I use - install from the Google Play store on both tablets - maybe it's on the Amazon app store too. The reason for the difference is likely above, but you can test it for yourself and let us know the answer.
