I need to find a host as cheaply as possible but without ads. Can anyone recomend anywhere that's reliable please? I won't be selling anything from it : it'll be pretty basic it's just to give info about a charitable group. I've looked around but trying to decide which one looks best is just confusing me and they all look quite pricey. I'll also need to sort a domain name too but that looks simpler.

https://www.123-reg.co.uk offers cheap domains (including .org for use at a charitable domain) and then small hosting packages on top.0

Thanks.
Do you use Linux November? They offer the Linux as a lot cheaper but what would that mean in practical terms: I have someone else working on actually producing the thing, I just have to find somewhere to park it.
I'd looked at 123 reg isofa but hadn't heard how reliable it was.

We use www.fasthosts.co.uk for most of our Clients, and find them really good. they're reliable, have hardly any downtime at all, and an excellent support team. When I email them a question, I genearlly get a reply within 30 minutes.
Good luck!
Elle xxI'm not easily distracted, I just... ... ... oh my god it's a puppy!!0 -
http://www.web-mania.com
I use them - you have to know html etc yourself though - this isn't a host for a complete beginner.0 -
I have 3 sites hosted by https://www.3ix.com . Alot of pple will slate them but in a year and a half I haven't had any issues. I havent had much contact with them as I havn't needed to. at 59p a month for 1 site.
I generally use https://www.lycos.co.uk to buy domains. You actually own the name yourself through them.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0 -
I am using Easily but they can work out expensive. Additionally for another of my websites I am hosted via MSE member Seaweasel - much cheaper, proper email included and about the same uptime - about £15 per year but will it stay this cheap?0

I'm using the FREE http://www.communitykit.co.uk/ for a charity website and also a community group website.
The only advert is this:
"Powered by Recipero Working together with BT "
Hope this helps.
ps googlepages may be another option? I haven't used it yet but keep meaning to

Thanks everyone: I'll pass on the info and see if husband can find something suitable. He already uses easily for a domain name for a club he belongs to (http://www.minisininverness.co.uk/ if anyone's bored enough to look!) and he does know html : it's me that's clueless! It's him that's doing the hard work but it's me the committee will growl at if things go wrong.0
