Exchanging car due to disability

I am looking for advice for my younger brother (aged 45) who was diagnosed with multiple slerosis this year. He is in the middle of a relapse at the moment and due to numbness in legs and feets can no longer drive his Kia pcp car which he normally pays around £300 a month for and is about 8 months old. He has just got an early termination fee of £2000 approx and Kia are suggesting he exchange for a car with disabled hand controls at a cost of £300 per month approximately.
He is entitled to PIP and is looking into that but he cannot get to work at the moment so wants to exchange car sooner rather than later as we have no idea when or even if the feeling will return to his legs. At the moment he struggles to walk and is in pain. I think he should be able to get a motability vehicle and should be properly assessed by a disability centre as to which controls he needs and how to go about getting a disabled vehicle.
Anyone done this and could suggest pitfalls, things to look out for rather than being pushed by Kia into another unsuitable vehicle?

The pitfalls are that if the PIP ends they want the car back sharpish. Kia are probably thinking of the Motability scheme for the modified vehicle. Speak to them.
In exchange for the PIP payment they supply the vehicle but there maybe deposits to pay.
If he wants time to think then hand the car back and pay whats owed. Although you may get that waived if taking another vehicle through a lease or Motability
Motability maybe better if there is a risk of the PIP stopping, they take the vehicle back and thats the end of it as far as im aware. But with a lease the car still needs to be paid for.
