I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place but, if it is in the wrong area, please feel free to shift it :)

I had an e-mail perporting to be from PayPal in the bulk mail box of an e-mail address that I do not use for paypal accounting this morning.
The content read thus:

I have reported this to PayPal as it does look very suss', but wanted to warn others about this as it does actually look genuine, and had it not come into an account that I don't use for PayPal correspondance I may very well have been suckered in by it.
I am pretty convinced that it is a hoax but await PayPals confirmation.

It is a very obvious scam. Maybe the BG could move it across to the ebay board as I posted a sticky on there about these phishing mails as they are becoming far too common.

The first couple of words were a dead give away on your email though, 'Dear valued PayPal® member'. Paypal actually know who you are, they don't have to send a generic mail.

You did the right thing in sending it into paypal, just delete it now and forget it.

I liked the date as well:
Please update your records on or before May 2333th, 2005.
It's going to be a long month ...........
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").
