Cheapest time of year to fly to Australia

Hiya, I really want to take my family to Noosa in Australia next year for 3-4 weeks. Accomodation costs doesn't seem to vary that much throughout the year.
Does anyone know what is likely to be the cheapest time of year for flights?
Also is it likely to be cheaper to fly to Sydney rather than Brisbane?
Any tips & advice would be much appreciated.

Don't know if it is the cheapest time to fly but I do know that flights drop dramatically on the 16th January. I flew with Quantas last year to Oz with three stops (so was bascially a round the world flight) and the price almost halved between flying on the 15th and flying on the 16th, booked it at the beginning of Sept as well so might be worth looking now. I went through STA which was cheaper than going with Quantas direct (I checked!). Have fun.

The cheapest flights are usually in the period after Easter until June. This of coures is the winter down under so depending on where you want to go, it may or may not be the best time but it will be the cheapest for flights.
