HSBC upgrade to Advance Account?

I've applied for and been rejected for a HSBC Advance Account but been offered the HSBC Bank Account.
Has anyone opened a HSBC Bank Account and later upgraded it to an HSBC Advance account (to access the regular saver)?
More importantly, has anyone upgraded without having paid in at least £1750 p/m thereby demonstrating that they can meet the pay-in requirement for the Advance Account.

HSBC automatically upgraded my account when I had regular payments of £1750+ month going in (mostly me cycling money to and from my Halifax Reward account as well as my wages)
So get the account and manage it well and they may upgrade you in the future.
It may not be for a while, so get the regular savings account at the non Advance account rate, as it may not be for a year or so till you get upgraded0 -

Did you use it as your main account? I would only be using it so as to access the regular saver.0 -
I think many people on here have several 'main' accounts.
I would have thought that is you bounce £1750 plus through it for several months then there is a good chance of it being picked up and upgraded after a while.0 -

I've got many myself. I originally applied when they were offering the £150 switching + £50 if you stay a year incentive and the 5% regular saver. For that I was prepared to fund another account in addition to the others I have.
As HSBC has the largest pay-in requirement I'm just trying to work out whether to take the account, fund and hope to upgrade or to wait until some time next year, perhaps when an incentive payment is again available.0
