Gmail sign in

Been using gmail for years and years.
I have one account and the missus has two accounts.
Just got a new computer and set up gmail ok except that there ain't a 'stay signed in' box to tick so that every time the missus checks her gmail she has to sign in and then when I want to check my gmail I have to sign in. Didn't used to be like this.
Win 10, but gmail using win 10 on another computer is fine.
How to sort this ??

In the top right hand corner of gmail there is a button (my picture in my case). When you click it it gives the opportunity to sign in with another account (add account button) and sign out later without affecting your sign in.0

It's the signing in and signing out I want to dispense with.
When I clicked on another account I would be signed in automatically with the gmail system on my old computer.It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0
