Oh what a shame the butcher baker and greengrocer not open when you want to shop at 3.30 in the morning.
Folk who use that excuse still manage to do everything else (including normal high street shops) during business hours.0 -

Best Before Dates are not nonsense. They DO NOT mean that food will not be okay to eat 2 weeks after., nor do then mean that they "should have been used 2 weeks ago" .Just means exactly what its says - they will at their best before the date.0 -

Even with USE BYS its still nonsense. A bag of chopped up prepared carrots will have a use by date on but they'll still be fine to use 2 days after in my fridge.0 -

I would agree Use Bys on veg are nonsense0 -
Asda might have some veg for 20p, but their potatoes are £1.25. So carrots, parsnips, sprouts and potatoes at Asda are £1.85. Tesco have everything for 39p so £1.56 for the four bags. Unless of course you can be bothered to go to both.
Anyone driving to another supermarket to save 29p any time of year must be mad.
Besides, with Asda, you can check the receipt for the APG. My mum shops in Asda and often gets vouchers as its not 10% cheaperThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I agree on best before dates. Last week I finished off a net of oranges which I brought on 4th October, best dated 14th. Used the last one up on 11th December. Stored in the right conditions, fruit and veg can last a long time. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0
