Did he sign the +48 hours disclaimer formI do Contracts, all day every day.0

Yes but as said, the ACAS quote says a night worker can't opt out, so it doesn't apply. He's definitely a night worker and not in an exluded job.0

No I don't know why he's still working for them either lol.
Is there anything he can say to them to say 'legally you should be giving me payslips' to make sure he gets them? I'm a bit worried about his tax and NI.
I have found http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employment/employment_rights_and_conditions/pay_and_employment/pay_slip.html. He says he has tried to insist on being given payslips, but they just haven't been given, similiar to the contract of employment he signed.
The payslip issue is concerning. It is possible the company is treating him as self employed? He should absolutely insist on the payslips and not let that issue go. I know you said he is a PAYE employee but the lack of payslips can sometimes indicate the company is treated him as a self-employed person.
Maybe he can ask his colleagues if they receive pay slips.0 -
I agree. Even more so for a Dog Handler as they are often classed as self-employed, presumably so the company can waive their responsibilities for the welfare of the dogs? I'd be interested to know if this company has been looking after the dog, since they seem incompetent everywhere else. I've worked for two small security companies and both were a nightmare.
